Class is in Session

Hi Everyone,

As you may have heard, we have cleared off the classroom table and we are ready for in-person classes!

Starting in June.

There are a bunch of ways to learn at Knit House. So, what exactly are we offering in the shop?

Here's a review:

Drop-in Help - We don't advertise this option on our website, but we are very friendly and are always happy to help you to the best of our ability when you swing by the shop. We are open Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, 11-3. (Some people have asked us if we will be opening more days during the week and the answer is: not at this time. We're enjoying the schedule and are just busy enough to justify the hours that we do have. Never say never, though!)

Depending on the day, you will get to meet Ariane, Christine or Tish - all consummate knitters! They won't be able to do anything as time consuming as rewriting your pattern for you (!), but they are EXCELLENT at dropped stitches, pattern confusion, yarn indecision and project inspiration. They are all masters at coming up with fun new projects. Come visit us!

Private Lessons - Need more attention than a quick drop-in? Sign up for a 1/2 hour or hour long session with Chiaki and she will get you up to speed on whatever you're looking to knit. She's currently available on Wednesday and Thursday afternoons at the shop. Beginner? No problem. A one-on-one lesson is a perfect way to start. Are you ready to tackle your first shawl...sock...sweater?? Or do you want to learn a new technique (brioche, lace knitting, colorwork)? This is the solution for you.

Classes - Most of our classes are project-based. For instance, right now we are offering a class on Top-Down Sweaters, one on First Socks and another on a Simple Cowl for the beginner. Past classes have covered Brioche Cowls, Fair Isle Sweaters, Cotton Market Bags, Fingerless Gloves, Baby Layettes and much, much more. We hope you are able to find something that interests you. If not, shoot us an email. We love suggestions!

Knitting Table - The Knitting Table is a unique offering. It's a hybrid between a get-together and a private lesson. Sign up for one of these sessions and you can bring whatever project you're working on and... get help! Chiaki keeps the session moving and will circle around the group as many times as she can to attend to every student. It's not as intense as a private lesson, but you will get your questions answered, that's for sure. If you realize that you need a lot more help, this is great way to decide that a Private Lesson is the best option for you. Side note: we've noticed that many who attend the Knitting Table also end up becoming good friends. A nice bonus. :-)

A couple of notes....

• Since our classes are so reasonably priced, we do ask that you purchase all of your supplies at Knit House. We're here to help. And we are happy to place special orders. Thank you so much.

• For now, we are requiring masks for all. Even the vaccinated. Just to be safe.

• Make sure that if you need to cancel, you do so more than 24 hours in advance. That way we can refund you in full.

See you in-person soon!
