You may already know a couple of color work techniques - such as Fair Isle and Slip Stitch - but have you tackled Intarsia?? This class is a wonderful introduction to a skill that you will use over and over.
This 3-week session covers everything you need to know to make this adorable cushion.
Session 1 - Prepare for Instarsia work. Separate yarns into 5 different balls. Learn how to make hand-wound bobbins. Start knitting the bottom ribbing.
Session 2 - Learn how to change colors with the Intarsia method.
Session 3 - Assembling: Weave in the loose ends from the Intarsia work. Seam the sides and attach the buttons.
** Please have your yarns wound and your needles ready for Session 1. See the needle section below for suggested needle sizes.
The sample is knit with Biches et Buches "Le Gros Lambswool". The yarn is doubled throughout. (The doubled yarn makes a nice dense knitted fabric)
If you prefer to work with a single yarn, please choose Spud & Chloe "Outer". Note that you will need more skeins for "Outer".
• 12" x 12" cushion (pillow) insert. Unfortunately, Knit House does not sell inserts, so you will want to check sewing/craft supply stores.
