CLASS: First Socks
It’s time to make socks!
If socks sound intimidating, try this simple beginner sock. Knit with DK weight yarn, it knits up quickly without the use of short rows or picked up stitches for the heel. It is basically a tube with a toe. A heel is added after the sock is finished and only requires decreases every other round! You will be done in no time.
With a gauge of 24 sts to 4”, cast on 48 sts. Join for working in the round. K2, P2 until desired leg length.
Pattern is included with the class fee and will be handed out at the first class.
Supplies needed (please have your supplies ready before you come to class):
- 1 skein of DK weight wool, wound (one skein of Hedgehog Fibres DK is enough for a pair of mid-calf length socks)

- Needles that are appropriate for your yarn (please check with us if you need help determining needle size) - either FlexiFlips or DPNs (or extra-long circulars with Magic Loop). The sample is knit in Hedgehog Fibers DK with size #4 needles.
- A small amount of waste yarn
- Tapestry needle
