CLASS: Brioche Basics with Adriana

CLASS: Brioche Basics with Adriana

Regular price $50.00

Brioche is a style of ribbing that creates a delightfully fluffy, richly textured knitted fabric. Great for sweaters, hats and cowls, brioche is great for creating garments with a bit more depth or two-color ribbing.

For those new to brioche, though, the written instructions for creating this fabric can feel intimidating. Moreover, the technique varies slightly depending on whether you're knitting brioche flat or in the round, and with two colors or one.

If you've ever wanted to learn to knit brioche -- perhaps because you saw a beautiful pattern that employs this technique for some or all of the garment -- but felt confused or overwhelmed when you got started, this class is for you.

We'll start with a discussion of brioche gauge -- how and why it can be so different from stockinette gauge in the same yarn -- and how to create a basic, one-color brioche worked flat. Then we'll discuss working in the round, and adding a second color for both flat and in-the-round projects. By the end of this course, you'll be able to tackle whatever one- or two-color brioche project you encounter (and maybe even ready to start creating some holiday gifts in this lustrous fabric)!
