Knitting Masks?

Hi Everyone,

In anticipation of our reopening in July, we're thinking about the precautions we will all need to take to keep our knitting community safe and sound.

One of the most important elements of our reopening plan is incorporating masks into the shopping experience at Knit House.

But just because we need to cover up, that doesn't mean it can't be fun.

To this end, we're working with one of our very favorite local companies to create some custom KH masks

Equipe is a really wonderful Marin County-based business which makes (along with home goods) beautiful and high quality bags of all sizes. We carry their awesome tote bags as well as an extremely functional and very attractive custom Knit House drawstring project bag.

During the pandemic, Equipe has now turned its attention to producing masks - for sale and for donation.

According to their website,

"EQUIPE masks are produced in partnership with The Canal Alliance, a San Rafael, California community based non-profit that champions immigrants who are challenged by a lack of resources and an unfamiliar environment. EQUIPE masks are sewn by a dedicated coalition of home-based sewers in the Canal District in San Rafael generating much needed income during the economic downturn brought on by Covid-19. EQUIPE donates masks for distribution to the Canal Alliance, and other community based social services agencies in Northern California."

This photo is an example of one of their chambray masks. It is good-looking, light-weight and perfectly practical.

We're going to add an element of our logo to the lower corner of the mask to jazz it up just a little and make it ours.

What do you think?

Let us know!
